Random Friday

Between NaBloPoMo (posting every day), and NaNoWriMo (writing a novel in a month), and looking for a job- some of my posts may be short and sweet. Or just short.  And, since it's November, I may use the whole 'thanksgiving' thing as my cop out.

My apologies.

Today, I'm thankful for two hours to myself while the kids were at school. I was going to write the whole time. Instead, I sewed for most of it. I made helped my friend make a 'binder purse' I'd seen on Pintrest. We made it yesterday. (Thanks, Michelle!) I realized the straps were too long, so today I fixed them.  I did write, though I still have about 600 words to finish for today.

Speaking of Pintrest-- do you? Pintrest? Oh, it's like quicksand. Sucks you right in till you can't, or don't want to, get out. I'll be doing a Pintrest post soon. I love it in a very unhealthy way.

My family (siblings and parents) is doing a Biggest Loser competition. We're focusing more on health than weight loss, though we're all secretly hoping to lose weight. Who cares about health, really, if you look good?

My kids at college BOTH had their computers break down this week. My son called me, explained what happened, and then asked me what to do.  "Hello? Did you confuse me with someone who knows something about computers?  If it doesn't turn on with the little round button, then I have no clue.  But, it's sweet that you still think I know everything. Cuz, I do, really."  The Handy Man and I decided that because Jake uses his laptop all the time, it was probably just exhausted and committed suicide.

My car a.k.a. the Dementor, died this week. Again. I've been homebound all week. You'd think my house would be spotless and my laundry all done. You'd be wrong.

OK, my friends. I have a novel to write. It's late. Get some sleep. I'll see you tomorrow.

  1. Speaking from an entirely selfish stand point short posts are great, much easier to catch up or stay up to date when you're a bad blogger like me ;-)

Pinterest?? I signed up but haven't been sucked in....yet!!!

  2. Pinterest is my drug, and I have at least a 60 minute a day habit right now. Seriously, Pinterest is like my new Bing or Google I search there first. Thank you so much for stopping by my site and visiting. Mother of seven? I'm sure sometime in the future I will be asking for advice! Have a fantastic weekend!

  3. I don't think I'm allowed on Pinterest. Something about my not being crafty or capable of pre-heating the oven.

Love the computer-suicide comment. My total LOL moment (along with "Did you confuse me with someone who knows something about computers?"). Golden nuggets of comic joy right there.

  4. I love the comic joy too...so funny! I am a pinterest fanatic, but I try to keep it to while I'm at work and it's boring (no work to do). I also go in spurts of being on there all the time and not being on for days. I guess I'm a binge pinterest fanatic.

  5. I'm scared of Pinterest. I'm afraid wasting time on Pinterest would cut into all the other important ways I waste time now.

Sorry about the car and the computer. I've been on the receiving end of those phone calls where you're supposed to be an expert on something you don't have clue one about. They can be oddly flattering.
