A Good Day

It's December.  I always love tearing off the last month's calendar page.  I like the way a new month looks--all clean and open.  A new beginning every 30 days or so.
This month is one of my favorites.  It's filled with the possibilities of good days.

It's a good day to...

...celebrate my oldest's birthday.  While I like to think of him like this-

he's actually turning 20. Of course, that means I was a child bride and had him when I was ten.

...play Christmas music and pray for snow.  I know you can have Christmas without the white stuff, but I have a hard time getting in the mood when my grass is green. I don't know how you warmer weather folks do it.  There's just something about the blanket of shiny snow that makes it feel like the holidays.  Plus, it makes my really ugly lawn look like everyone else's.

...be prepared. But, I'm not. I live in a house full of scouts who follow that motto. Me? I'm belong to the PSA- the Procrastination Scouts of America.  Our motto is- "Put it off as long as you can, you work better under pressure."  I'm the Founder and President, anyone want to join?

...have a portrait done.

...meet with my writing group.  I feel very lucky to meet up with Deb and Caitlyn.  They're incredibly talented, and they never make me feel like I'm old enough to be their mom, even though I am. (child bride, you know)

...to live up to the title of my blog. frazzled? You live in a 1900 square foot house with a gaggle of kids and see if you can avoid it.  frumpy? Oh, yeah. Walking into Target last night I realized I was living it. The Handy Man pointed out that my socks  reminded him of the Cat in the Hat. I told him, "At least they're in the same color family as my flannel shirt. Also, the Cat in the Hat had a striped hat, not socks. So, thank you very much, Thing One. Keep it up and I'll replace you with Thing Two."  (I didn't really say that, but I thought it.)

...celebrate my anniversary.  We were married in December and one of the traditions we started was to have a photo ornament of our family each year.  I thought I'd share some of those photos this month.  This is our engagement picture. We were on our way to becoming a family.

They do say that the continents will all meet again one day, shame I can't wait the something like 4 million years it will take!! Damn that pond!

PS I loved everything about this post, but if I commented on everything my comment length would exceed the length of your post ;-)

  4. I love that picture! Such genuine and happy smiles! I always suspected you were a child-bride. We can always detect each other, right?

LOVE the Christmas decorations you put up on your blog. I'd love to do the same, but I'm fairly certain I would just end up deleting everything I've ever written. It's kinda how my life goes.

    Happy Anniversary!
