Trying Not to Sound Like Sally Fields
I write because it's part of me. I ignored that part for many years. But now, I've awakened the beast and she will not be silenced. To have people read what I write is a bonus. To find out they like it? It's overwhelming.
Imagine my feeling when my new friend at My View Through Kat Eyes gave me this-
I smiled all day. (You like me!)
As part of the award, I'm supposed to tell you 7 things about me. I've been wracking my brain trying to think of 7 things. This blog has made me an open book. But, I think I may have come up with a few.
1- I am one of seven kids. I have seven kids. If each of my children had seven, I'd have 49 grandkids. That would be amazing! (Tho' I highly doubt it will happen.)
2- Yes, I am old enough to have grandkids, tho I really hope it won't happen for at least 3 years.
3- You know the movie, 'The Vow'? I wrote a book almost identical to that story about seven years ago. Weird, huh? (No it wasn't published.)
[Have you noticed a 7 theme here? Not intentional.]
4- I have two different thumbs. Of course, you say. No, I mean, I have one thumb like my mom's and one like my dad's. See-
5- I was bucked off a horse 3 times as a child. I love horses, but the thought of riding one scares the bejeezes out of me.
6- In the fall, I will go from having 8 kids at home (our 7, plus our 'adopted' daughter) to just five. A friend asked if that's bittersweet. I told her no, just sweet.
7- I'm not a picky eater, but I can't eat anything that has olives or mushrooms in it. Blech.
Now, I'm supposed to give out the award to some other bloggers. Most of the ones I read have already received this award. But, I will introduce you to one. It's written by Dawn the Survivor. No, really, she was on the last season of Survivor. She writes a great blog about her family and has fantastic advice about day to day life. I always leave her blog feeling inspired. Also, she has great insights into Survivor, which is one of my favorite shows. Check her out at
The Deseret Housewife.
And, Kat, thanks again.

Do you have any idea how hard it is to take a picture or your thumbs? |

That's great! Congrats Jewels!
ReplyDeleteLoved "getting to know" you a little better. (:
Regarding item #2, I, too am old enough and three of my four kids are older than I was when my first is born. I'm pretty okay with the fact that they all seem to be pacing themselves a little differently than Hubby and I did.
ReplyDeleteAnd regarding the thumbs: That's craziness. My index fingers match each other, but both of them are turned slightly (but noticeably) toward my middle finger. If you spend too much time looking at it, it's kind of like saying the same word over and over again until it eventually loses all meaning and starts to seem like something entirely alien. Good job with the photo, though. I'm not sure how you managed to pull that one off. ;)
Congrats! I wish I had more time for the blogoshere!
