Will you go to Prom?
Sadie got asked to Prom. She'll be 16 next week, and this will be her first date. (Our kids have to be 16 to date.) It's all very exciting.
Getting her 'response' ready.
"If there's more M&M's- it's yes,
more Reeses- no."
I'm pretty sure he'll know the answer without counting.
I asked her if she wanted to wear my dress.
What do you think?
Maybe her date could find a super-cool,
baby blue tux.
(Holy Smack! I wish I were still that skinny!)
Do you love his mustache?
I'm not sure what I saw in him.
It was actually a lousy night.
We broke up a week later.
*sigh*
I do not miss high school.

That dress is so pretty! And you are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteGood luck to Sadie! (:
Thanks, you're sweet. Sadie is going with a boy she's been friends with for a couple years, so I think it'll be fun.
DeleteMy son (a junoir) says he is going to 'save' the prom for his senior year. His girlfriend is okay with that. But my daughter (a freshman) can hardly wait until she's 16 and able to go! Hope your daughter has a great time!
ReplyDeleteSadie has never been 'boy crazy' or talked much about dating- which is fine with me. However, she was VERY excited to get asked.
DeleteLOVE the dress! And have you considered a convent for your daughter? Dating scares me. I think our age requirement will hover around 30.
ReplyDeleteHaha! Love this. You're children probably don't love this, but I do :)
DeleteConvent. All-girls school. Her father has considered shaving her head. (just kidding) Luckily, she's a smart girl with a very strong sense of self. As the only girl with 6 brothers, she knows how to handle herself around the opposite sex!
DeleteSo fun for her! And for you, I love that you're all excited for her. I bet she was drooling over your dress, eh? And I'm with you on the whole not missing HS thing.
ReplyDeleteShe has actually worn the dress (for a skit) I should post that picture. She laughed a lot at herself in it. I told her it was a Princess Diana wedding-style dress. She had no idea what I was talking about.
DeleteAhhh sister you look so pretty! Love ya :)
ReplyDeleteWhat about Scott? Isn't he dreamy? hehehe
DeleteI'm pretty sure I had a dress just like that. =) I hope Sadie has a great time!
ReplyDeletePrincess Diana inspired, right? My mom made mine.
DeleteNever did the prom thing and never really regretted it--if I could've attended in jeans and sneakers, it might have been a different story. ;)
ReplyDeleteAll of my kids attended theirs--and multiple other mini-prom things like Snow Ball and Homecoming that all required fancy clothing, etc. I'm looking forward to some day showing THEIR kids the outdated prom pictures. When Son-One went, we rented his tux through the flower shop where I worked and all he asked for was a "James Bond" tux. When we talked to the tux company, we told them that so the tag when it came in the tag actually said, "Bond, James" rather than Son-One's name. :)
