NaNo Inspiration

(This is one of my novel inspirations.)
Are you NaNo-ing? If not, are you working on something? Something that lights your fire and keeps you awake at night?

Do you have a dream? Something you want very much to do, but are afraid to speak it because you're sure someone will laugh or roll their eyes? Is there a hidden talent you know you could be fabulous at, but you don't know where or how to start?

If you didn't know, it's *NaNo month. The one where thousands of slightly insane people try to write a novel in a month. (Yes, I'm one of the crazy ones!) It's hard. It's frustrating. And, it's thrilling!

So, let's all embrace the spirit of NaNo and go for it this month. Do something. Dance. Sing. Sew. Cook up a storm. Write something.

Creating makes us happy. It makes us better. It brings us closer to God.

"God left the world unfinished for man to work his skill upon. He left the electricity in the cloud, the oil in the earth. He left the rivers unbridged and the forests unfelled and the cities unbuilt. God gives to man the challenge of raw materials, not the ease of finished things. He leaves the pictures unpainted and the music unsung and the problems unsolved, that man might know the joys and glories of creation." (President Thomas S. Monson)

*National Novel Writing Month- the goal, write a 50,000 word novel in 30 days.

  2. that is one of the reasons I decided to blog again. I told my sister the other week that I just felt kind of empty. I have a great family, but when they're not around, what do I do? I needed something . . . anything . . . to make me feel . . . I don't even know what the word is . . . worthwhile?? Anyway, love the Pres. Monson quote.

    1. And, creating can do that. I'm so glad you're back to writing. I've missed you.

  3. And have you ever noticed that the word verification thingy is a lot like indexing? Hard to decipher. :)

  4. The great thing about living your dreams (even if they give you a headache and a big hole in the wall) you get to live them with friends!!

  5. I'm not writing a novel, so I bow to your greatness. (You go, girl!) I have embarked on a year-long study of a book to help me with a more discipled spirituality. This month I'm blogging NaBloPoMo about the first month of practicing these disciplines. ..

Also, I love your encouragement to follow our dreams! Empty-nesting is a great time to do that. I feel I'm doing that now. Love ya!

  6. And, I'm loving those posts! (Blogging daily is hard) As for my 'greatness' I think it's more like delusions of grandeur.

  7. I'm so behind on reading blogs. I also love the President Monson quote! It's great! But I loved what you said, too: "Creating makes us happy. It makes us better. It brings us closer to God." So perfect.
