If You Give a Kid a Camera

While at our reunion last month, I gave my camera to Hunter and told him to take some pictures. I didn't know what to expect, but was pleasantly surprised.  He definitely gave me a different perspective on the ranch. It's interesting what kids notice. (The self-portraits are my favorite.)

    You may have a future photographer on your hands. I especially love the toilet one and the one of the two bathtubs...reminds me of a certain prescription drug commercial. :) Great job Hunter.

    Yeah, the bathtubs are funny. We made jokes about that commercial all weekend.

Her house is stifling.  The fan above her clicks a rhythm and she lays as still as she can, hoping for relief. She pushes herself up, forcing movement that reverberates in her head. Walking through the rooms, she checks windows, praying for the breath of a breeze. She loves this house. Did you ever wake up in the morning, like usual, you turn over, check the time on the clock, happy to have a few more minutes, listen to the sound of your kids downstairs, cringe at a shout, stretch, then, suddenly-- you remember? Then you lay there all alone and smile stupidly to yourself? That was me. This morning. The reason for my stupid smiling?
